HEY I JUST READ (WELL NOT ENTIRELY) THAT AND I FEEL ERASED !

http://www.thinkingautismguide.com/2012/11/shameful-film-about-autism-in-france.html

I HADN’T THE COURAGE TO READ EVERYTHING BECAUSE REALLY DIFFICULT TOPIC, there was this thing said in the Interview though:

Did you speak with any autistic adults who have suffered through this life?

We didn’t see any autistic adults because they are probably institutionalized. They are probably in these hospitals. And there is no way to get into these government-run facilities. In general there’s no educational placement for these adults either, and if their parents or family aren’t around, there is really no other place for them to go.

And I commented, but since I published it quite late I’m not sure anyone will read it, so I publish this here too just in case!!!!

Wait, are they saying that all autistic adults are institutionalized in France ?
How did they do their research????
THERE ARE PLENTY AUTISTIC ADULTS THAT YOU CAN FIND ON THESE FORUMS JUST FOR EXEMPLE: http://forum.asperansa.org/index.php OR http://www.satedi.net/forum/
THE FACT IS THAT MOST AUTISTIC PEOPLE JUST AREN’T DIAGNOSED IN FRANCE BECAUSE DOCTORS THERE THINK THAT IF YOU’RE VERBAL THEN YOU CAN’T BE AUTISTIC
A lot of what is said here is right (sadly) but I don’t like it when we are erased (I’m actually half french half swiss and live in the french part of Switzerland where there are the same problems with psychoanalysts)

and I  added

And there has even already been an article on this very website about AN AUTISTIC FRENCH PERSON THAT I’VE ACTUALLY MET ON ONE OF THE FORUMS I TALKED ABOUT (AND MET IN PERSON A LITTLE LATER): http://www.thinkingautismguide.com/search/label/L…
We exist!
