Tumblr makes me feel like other countries don’t have their own politics. People in foreign countries sure do complain about ours quite a bit.
Ha! Yes! Tumblr is America.
Honestly, I want to suspect it’s because a lot of countries have BETTER politics than the US does these days, so there’s less to complain about compared to the huge mess we’re making. Plus, the US’s politics affect so much of the world…
for me it’s the second thing…. All the countries are going more and more into the far Right Wing and free market without any restriction or responsibilities for the wealthiest and most powerful companies, a lot of this has been and continue to b influenced by the American Vision of economy…. and if someone as Mitt Romney is passing then all of that is at risk of becoming much worse (if republicans give even more power and less responsibilities to powerful companies then to not be distanced every other countries to not be economically distanced will do that too… and the money they will give to companies, they will take it away from the poor and the vulnerables….)
So yeah, We probably all depends on the result, if someone as Romney is elected you really won’t be able to find a good other country to idealized because things will probably suck everywhere !!

Please signal boost widely!
This is the easiest way to register to vote in the U.S. that I’ve found.
If you don’t have access to a printer or a car (like me), you can go to this website (TurboVote.org - translations in English or in Spanish), fill out your information, and they will mail you the printed forms AND a stamped envelope addressed to your county clerk’s office. All you have to do is pop it in the mail box once you receive them and you’re registered.
You can also sign up to do an absentee ballot/vote by mail so you don’t need to find transportation (or take the time off work) on election day.
It’s definitely legit because I just received and sent off the forms today. I’m not affiliated with the site in any way, I’m just excited to find such a great resource.
Please share the site on facebook, tumblr, twitter, and tell your friends and family about it.
Ok, I live I’m not from the US I’m Swiss, but I still pass this as a Signal Boost because I want as many people as possible to vote, because if Mitt Romney pass people are going to die and I don’t want this.

Argentina JUST PASSED a groundbreaking gender identity bill!!!
From now on, people will be able to change the name and gender on their ID without needing psychiatric permission or any body modifications. Furthermore, anyone who does want hormones or surgery will be able to access them for free through the public and private health system.
It was passed unanimously today by the Senate :-D
OK this has got me really emotional. This is fucking beautiful. Other countries take note. Oh gosh this is just the best thing I’ve had on my dash all day.
!!!
Yes, I’m very late reblogging this, but this is awesome!
Scary indeed (possible trigger warning: mention of anti-disability rights sentiments)

I think I’m more scared of leftists who paint disability rights as reactionary than I am of anyone else.
I don’t know if it is what is the most scary ever, but this is certainly very scary and makes me angry.
