I have 14’676 drafts waiting !

Tumblr is too fast for me and I begin to panick !

mommy-cuteella:

No, Tumblr, really?  I can’t reblog from myself again?  We’re doing this again?

Hey you’re right

WHY DID THEY DO THAT ????????

I should be more causcious, when I reblog some picture and add a description just under the picture, people think I’m the OP I will try to be precise about it next time, because I already received two nice messages of encouragment that were addressed to the OP

Tumblr WHAT IS HAPPENING AGAIN?

humainsvolants:

I can’t scroll the tags anymore, so when tags are long, I can’t read them!!!!!!

Do someone know what is happening ?

I Want My Tags!

Also, I cannot find any way to activate the little button next to “create post” that has all of the options for queuing and saving posts as drafts if you’re blind and use a screen reader. I’m currently playing around with VoiceOver on OS X, and I can’t even find the button— it skips straight from “create post” to “close”, with nothing in between.

Same goes for the little gear icon for entering the content source. That’s not exposed to screen readers either, apparently.

(This doesn’t entirely surprise me; looking at the code, it’s implemented as an entirely empty <div> tag, with all the necessary hooks added via JavaScript.)

codeman38:

So yet again, Tumblr apparently didn’t actually test things before deploying them. I’m finding that, in Firefox for Mac, the arrow keys go completely haywire in the text editor box for reblogs, so that up/down arrows are interpreted as “go to top” and “go to bottom”.

Oddly, the same thing doesn’t happen in the text editor for new posts. Go figure.

Edited to add: Hm, apparently this only happens with the plain text editor, not the rich text one. Which might be how it escaped the beta testers. Unfortunately, I far prefer the plain-text editor, because half the time I end up typing HTML in the rich text one anyway and then having to go back and fix it…

I don’t like the new Tumblr post page. I suffer from severe sight loss, and contrast is important when looking at things, such as reading letters, looking at labels or reading things on the web. I use a magnifier often, so I can quickly enlarge and read a bit of text without screwing with the page layout (Increasing text size works sometimes, but usually it just breaks everything)
With these new icons, I’m finding it too difficult to use. I cannot see the link/unlink buttons at all, and everything else is very faint. I cannot read tags once they’ve been typed in, and above this post now is a box which upon zooming in rather large says ‘upload another photo’, which I cannot read, and it’s difficult to figure out where the edge of this box is. Furthermore, the Close button at the bottom right, I can’t see the edge clearly, and often mis-click just to the side. I can press Escape now though.
I doubt the moderators or staff of Tumblr will see this, so I won’t expect them to fix anything, but if you’re part of the Tumblr modding community, please consider making something to replace these buttons and boxes to make them easier to see for those of us with a visual impairment.
Tumblr is becoming harder to use, and is ruining my enjoyment of it, and if things keep going this way of making things look trendy rather than them being functional, communicating with my friends will eventually become more of a chore than a passtime.

This is the type of complaint that is /actually real/ and worthwhile to maybe fix for those who need it…

A big thanks to everyone who’s reblogged this, I’m happy the response was positive, and that y’all understood my difficulties. &lt;3

Signal boost for the visually impaired community.

I’m wondering how well the new tumblr updates work with other accessibility functions, for people with screen readers or adaptive software to browse the internet.  How much of Tumblr is compliant to WCAG2 standards?  This is a growing concern on the internet right now, something that I would think that a site like Tumblr would be inclined to be trying to be more accessible rather than trendy.
Make Tumblr functional for all!!!

Hey guys, normally I don’t reblog stuff like this to LTST but if you could sign this petition that would be GREAT! We have just about 7 times as many followers as the petition needs to be passed….imagine how much we could do if even half of you signed it!

Thank you so much!

At first, I wasn’t even going to re-blog this, but I thought about it, and now it’s best that I do so.

I don’t think it’s so much the update as it is the fact that Tumblr springs these things on its users unexpectedly, even without telling us ahead of time or letting us preview it to get used to it before making it permanent.

It’s just really sad that the staff doesn’t really take us that seriously, and maybe — just maybe — this will be a turning point, so if you wanna sign the petition, the above link is available, and be sure to pass it around like wildfire.

‘k, I got it! And I think it’s actually pretty well thought off, even though I only tested it once. What’s the problem?
it’s upsetting. I like having several tabs open with the posts I want to reblog, because it allows me to see them all one last time before I reblog everything. It also means I can get to the end of my dash before I reblog anything, so that I can see the various iterations of a post before choosing which one to put on my blog.

Now I can’t do that anymore. Everything is instantaneous. I don’t like it. It’s… distressing. And I know I’ll probably get used to it, because we get used to everything, but I don’t like it and I don’t want to get used to it because it upsets me a lot and I don’t like it.

If you think I sound like a child throwing a tantrum, you are entirely right and I don’t care because I REALLY DON’T LIKE THIS AT ALL

I actually understand all this very well and relate to a good part of it (Plus I don’t believe in tantrums, I think children have strongs emotions and are just expressing as strongly as they come, and should be took more seriously)
